A whole lot of heart and soul is the inspiration behind Kitty Lee Thomas Sweets.
As a young girl, I remember having visions of one day living in Manhattan and working on Wall Street, carrying a briefcase and wearing sophisticated high heels and skirt suits..kind of bizarre for a young girl right? As I became older, my passion for food and travel grew into new dreams of one day wanting to own a restaurant and to be able to travel and live abroad. I am fortunate that these dreams did become a reality for me (sans the restaurant and the briefcase). However, in 2009 I found myself struggling with the daily grind of corporate America and the outlook of my career. I needed a plan B. Food and cooking seemed like the natural next route, although I will admit the career jump was a little bit intimidating. I decided to follow my heart and enroll in The French Culinary Institute, eventually leaving my investment banking job and never turning back.
Among the many things my parents taught and instilled in me, was that I could accomplish anything if I put my mind to it, and that practice makes perfect. Kitty Lee Thomas Sweets is homage to my mom and dad, Kitty and Tom. Although they are no longer walking this earth beside me, they are ALWAYS here with me; in heart and soul. They allowed me to believe that dreams can come true.
Kitty Lee Thomas Sweets is about being able to share my love and passion for all things sweet! I hope you enjoy savoring them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
